Pretty sure I can follow my dreams thanks to Kanye West and Auto-Tune

Tonight that new Kanye song “Street Lights” came on at the end of Grey’s Anatomy (reserved for especially emo tearjerky songs (listen here)), and I gotta say, it was an intense couple of minutes for me. Especially because I had just today gotten super into this track. On a couple of subway rides, I’d even listened to it multiple times, exclusively.

I would assert that 80-90% of humans who listen to “Street Lights” a couple times in a row on a train ride will start to feel some feelings. Personally, 1:35 is when I really notice myself getting all affected & emo.
Just overall, I really like the new album, though it admittedly took a couple listens for me to get there with the Auto-Tune.
How are you guys handling Auto-Tune being everywhere lately? I guess if anyone can get away with it it’s Kanye, since he’s been evolving so hard he’s practically part robot.

I think if anybody can help Bon Iver fix the economy, it’s Kanye. When I listen to his lyrics, it’s very clear to me he understands my worst/most horrible feelings. He’s telling me I can be bigger/stronger/awesomer if I only put my mind to it.
For example, I can turn something silly like shutter shades into a widespread phenomena if I work hard. Another goal I could have is to become a huge pop star by using Auto-Tune to correct my pitchless-ness.
You guys, I want to develop an ego as huge as Kanye’s and then turn around & surprise everybody by creating a work of art that exposes the pain I’m actually in. I want to call out the president on national television if he handles a crisis poorly & I feel angry about it. I want to create art so emotive it compells viewers to almost-cry at the end of a Grey’s Anatomy episode.
Basically, all I want in this world is the opportunity & confidence in this life to follow my heart & live my dreams. And it’s a little helpful knowing Kanye is out there, appreciating my feelings about this, pushing me to work harder, be awesomer, etc.
