Live acoustic versions of Lykke Li’s “I’m Good, I’m Gone” (are awesome)
One of my most overplayed songs the past few weeks has been “I’m Good, I’m Gone” by Swedish songbird Lykke Li [Myspace / Insound] — whose debut album “Youth Novels” placed at #4 on my Top 20 Albums of 2008 So Far post.
Lykke Li’s vocals are so smooth & sweet throughout this song about achieving big things after feeling overlooked for a while. I like to play it over & over on the headphones while stomping around Brooklyn, gearing up to take over the WORLD.
Recently, I stumbled upon two acoustic versions of the tune on YouTube — both of which are a little less stomp-worthy, but definitely worth a listen (or 20, if you’re me). Check out this first one from Soundvenue, recorded in a bathroom.
Next, the acoustic live version below features fellow Swedes Robyn, Daniel of The Concretes, Adam & Bebban of the Shout Out Louds, and others — for a unique collaboration that I enjoy as much as the original track if not more.
