Jen Bekman makes editioned art affordable at 20x200

20x200 is a unique online art store hosted by Jen Bekman of Lower Manhattan’s Jen Bekman Gallery that follows the formula: large editions + low prices x the internet = art for everyone.

This past January — with almost 5 years of gallery ownership under her belt — Bekman opened up shop at www.20x200.com, offering two affordable limited edition prints per week — one photo, and one work on paper. Each image is available in 3 sizes — the smallest size always costing $20 and printed in a batch of 200 (hence the name). Larger prints are also available, in medium-sized editions of 20 for $200, and large-sized editions (sometimes originals) of 2 for $2000.

A quick browse of the site reveals a wide range of up-and-coming contemporary artists, with something for all tastes. Two favorites included here are “Hot Dog and I” by Fernanda Cohen” and “The Office” by Rebecca Loyche — both still available for purchase as I post this.

New editions go on sale every Tuesday and Wednesday afternoon. Gift certificates are also available — a pretty sweet housewarming gift idea, if you ask me.
