Zach Galifianakis plays with his hair sooo much

Last night I got to see my sort-of celebrity crush that I’m still a little on the fence about, Zach Galifianakis! Between gigs on the Funny or Die Comedy Tour, he stopped by the UCB Theatre to be interviewed as part of their Inside Joke series.

Now, two things were distracting to me during this show. The first was spotting an ex in the audience (apparently escaped from the desert island all exes get involuntarily deported to post-breakup), and the second was how many frickin times Zach messed with his hair (i.e. so many times, you guys). I would’ve conducted an official count if I’d thought about the bloggability of this data (and if that wasn’t a completely stupid thing to spend my time doing).

In any case, I’m not saying he should stop, because it’s actually very marvelous how Zach’s thick cloud of hair responds to his frequent fork-styling. I’m pretty sure he doesn’t wash it real often ‘cause it totally does the thing my hair does in the back when I haven’t washed it in 3 days and I’m all stressed and tugging at it & my roommate asks me if I’m OK because I look absolutely deranged. This is not a very good look for a classy young woman, but it totally works with the Galifianakis brand of deranged humor.

Aside from that, the highlights of the show for me were seeing two new video shorts that he made with Eric Wareheim and Tim Heidecker of the Tim and Eric Awesome Show Great Job! (click here for one of them) and also when my high school girlcrush Janeane Garafolo appeared from backstage to serve Rice Krispie treats to the front row! Besides those things, if you ask me, Zach’s funniest bits last night were the same funniest bits I cracked up at in the Michael Showalter Showalter clip that I posted a while back. Only live, with in-person self hair-stylings!
