Buy me compass jewelry to help me find my way
A while back, I almost bought one of those compass rings you see in cute little shops sometimes. I think compass jewelry would be very handy for times when I exit the subway and am not sure which way I’m facing, and thus which direction I need to walk (generally I just pick a direction and turn around if I end up wrong, to avoid looking like a lost tourist, a.k.a. easy target for muggers/attackers/evil villians). But since none of the compass rings were actually functional (I spun in circles to test), I passed on buying one. There’s really no point if it doesn’t work.
Today, though, I came across this super gorgeous compass necklace (pictured at left), hand-crafted by Jeanne Flint. I think I neeeeed to own this, but the one I want is $118 (there’s an entire line), and thus far I’ve been unsuccessful in my search for an uber-rich sugardaddy to buy me gifts without requiring any sort of dating/touching/interaction.
I also came across COGnitivecreations at Etsy.com — another jeweler doing very interesting things with compasses. Check out this necklace, for $45 — one of several for sale at her Etsy shop.
I think a compass necklace would make a very nice Valentine’s Day gift! If you purchase one for your girlfriend, maybe you should buy a 2nd for me as a thank you for recommending something so novel and lovely.
For more info, click here for Jeanne Flint’s line of jewelry at Naked Art, and here for the COGnitivecreations Etsy shop. (If you’ve never checked out the huge online crafters’ market that is Etsy, I definitely recommend checking out that site, as well.)
