Women-only subway cars?

By 2008 South Korea will have women-only subway cars to prevent groping. Innteresting!

I’ve heard SO many stories from girls who’ve been unsuspectingly humped on NYC trains. Just a few weeks ago I was at a BBQ where every girl shared one or two. As if it’s not gross enough being crammed against bodies I don’t know during rush hour *without* fearing a fat old Hispanic dude will rub his stuff against my ass & breathe on my neck (i.e. my old flame, circa 2005). I prefer to be humped by someone I know & trust. A good sign that I’m up for it is if I’m making out with you already.

So I dig this initiative, though I don’t know how women-only subway cars would go over in New York. It’d probably be difficult to enforce, what with all our stumbling homeless crazies and confused tourists. But it’s an interesting idea for a disgustingly prevalent problem, so I’m giving South Korea props today.

P.S. Until our pink ribbony cars come, my best suggestion for dealing with unwanted subway humping is a swift elbow back into the ribs. Humpers never see that coming and HATE it.
